Discipleship in Community
Rooted in Scripture. Lived in Fellowship. Grown in Commitment.
A Two-Pronged Approach to Discipleship
Discipleship is not a suggestion for the spiritually elite—it’s the path of every follower of Jesus. At our church, we pursue discipleship with intentionality through two interconnected avenues:
Community Discipleship – Growing together as one body through Scripture
Personal Mentored Discipleship – Deepening your walk through structured study and formation
This shared foundation helps cultivate unity, maturity, and lifelong devotion to Christ.
1. Discipleship in Community
Walking through the Word together.
Each week, our entire church family studies the same chapter of the Bible. Currently, we are walking through the book of Acts. This intentional alignment creates unity across every ministry—from youth to adults—and allows Scripture to saturate every part of church life.
Daily Listening – We encourage members to listen to the chapter of the week each morning and evening.
Discipleship Guides – Weekly guides featuring trusted biblical commentary and questions to reflect, pray, and apply.
Memory Verses – One Scripture passage each week to internalize truth.
Wednesday Bible Study – A midweek gathering to receive teaching, ask questions, and grow in biblical understanding.
Sunday Sermon – Each Sunday closes the week with a sermon drawn from the same chapter.
Small Groups – Weekly meetings for accountability, community, and guide-based discussion.
Youth Integration – Our students walk through the same material and discussions, building generational continuity.
The AL Pastor Podcast – Pastor Brian offers weekly insight and gospel-centered teaching tied to the current chapter.
2. Personal Discipleship
Growing deeper through the School of the Bible.
In addition to corporate study, we offer structured courses through the School of the Bible, designed for those ready to be rooted, built up, and equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:17).
Discipleship Courses – Covering biblical doctrine, spiritual disciplines, and essential Christian beliefs.
Leadership Development Tracks – Equipping future leaders, teachers, and ministers with biblical and practical training.
Certificates and Diplomas – Participants can earn credentials that recognize their growth and dedication.
Open to All – Whether new in your faith or seasoned in the Word, there's a path for you.
3. Equipping Tools
Digital resources to help you go further.
We are committed to resourcing every believer with tools to grow in the Word and in fellowship beyond Sunday mornings.
Logos Bible Software – Every church member receives a free digital license for Logos with a carefully curated library of commentaries, study tools, and Bible resources.
Mighty Networks Community – A private online space for discussion, encouragement, and shared learning among members.
Faithlife TV Subscription – All members receive access to streaming Christian content—Bible teaching, documentaries, family-friendly media, and more.
Why This Matters
The church in Acts was committed to the apostles' teaching and to one another. We follow that same path: grounded in Scripture, united in community, and equipped for real life. Whether you're brand new to the Bible or ready to teach others, there's a next step waiting for you here.
